Privacy Policy
Last updated 6 August 2026
OurHomes (“OurHomes”, “we”, “us”) is a private household organisation tool at www.ourhomes.me. It is used by the members of a single household and the people they explicitly invite. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we will never do with it.
Information we collect
- Account information — the email address and display name you provide when you create an account.
- Content you enter — tasks, chores, reminders, lists, notes, trips, contacts, properties and projects you choose to store.
- Mobile phone numbers — only numbers you register yourself, and only after confirming ownership by texting a one-time code from that handset.
- Message content — text messages you send to our number, so they can be turned into the item you asked for. We keep a record of these to power the undo feature and to help you if something goes wrong.
- Push notification tokens — if you enable notifications, the anonymous device token your browser issues so we can deliver them.
How we use it
Solely to operate the service for you: storing what you save, showing it to the other members of your household, and sending the reminders and updates you have asked for. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not use your content for marketing of any kind.
Text messaging and your mobile information
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Phone numbers, opt-in records and message content are used only to deliver the OurHomes service to the household that registered them. They are never sold, rented, or passed to anyone for advertising.
Who can see your information
Your content is visible only to members of your household. Every record is protected at the database level by row-level security keyed to household membership, so one household can never read another’s data.
Passwords stored in the OurHomes vault are encrypted inside your browser with a passphrase only your household knows. We store the encrypted result and cannot read those entries.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of infrastructure providers who process data strictly on our instructions: Vercel (application hosting), Supabase (database and authentication) and Twilio (text message delivery). They are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes. We do not sell your information to anyone.
Retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. You can delete any item at any time, remove a registered phone number from the Household screen, or ask us to delete your account entirely by writing to marc.mercury@crateso.com. Deleting your account removes your content from our database.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit over HTTPS and encrypted at rest by our database provider. Access to the service requires authentication, and inbound text messages are verified by cryptographic signature before being accepted.
Children
OurHomes is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and notify account holders inside the app.
